Square
27
Stanford Junior School

Designed
and made by Jean Bosely and made by Sara Cook
Jean
worked on the drawings for this square, studying the various different
shaped rooflines and building shapes. She decided that it would
be too difficult to represent the whole building in the square and
chose instead to depict an eclectic view.
The
problem of design held back the making and like two pupils who had
left their homework till the eleventh hour we worked into the small
hours to get it done.
The
shapes were cut out and applied to a calico background using bondaweb.
The layers were built up and embellished with machine embroidery.
Jean embroidered the Cherry trees by hand once the quilt had been
assembled.
