Square
25
Marquess of Exeter Pub and Carol Singers

Designed
and made by Linda Rainbird
Since
the creation of the local Community Association there has been an
annual carol singing event held out side this pub which is roughly
at the centre of the area, adjourning to the hall for mince pies
and mulled wine afterwards.
This
was the second square that I made. There was no one else to take
it on so I offered and with the aid of a photograph and a some renditions
of carol singers from my friend Sheila Gyatt, I created this square.
I used all cotton fabrics that I had mostly bought in Canada except
for the Christmas tree where I used felt. I used bondaweb to apply
some of the smaller shapes and a needle turning method to apply
the larger ones. It took me around 3 days to complete as I was rushing
to get it done.
