Square 21
Booth Museum

Designed and made by Val Kinast

"I pass the museum most days and I just fancied doing it for the quilt. I began by taking photographs and from them making drawings and then paper patterns from these. I used cotton fabrics that I found at a jumble sale together with a few bits out of the general bag of scraps. It took about 6 months in all and I enjoyed every aspect of putting the square together."

Val was one of the first to finish her square and often wished she had spent a bit longer on it as others were not so prompt with reaching the deadline.

"It has been wonderful to see so many people interested in our work as it has travelled to different exhibitions. I am pleased to have been involved in this project".
