Highcroft Villas Allotments

I pass the allotments most days on my bike and I just fancied doing them for the quilt especially as they have been a local focus of a battle to save them from being built on. I began by taking photographs of the site and making my patterns from these. I used some fabrics that I had at home, some I had found at a jumble and some from the group scrap bag. It took me around 6 months and I enjoyed every aspect of sewing the square.

It has been wonderful to see so many people and children interested in our work and I am pleased to have been involved in a millennium project.
