Square 17
Porthall

Designed and made by Elaine Parry

Elaine chose to depict Porthall as it stands at the end of her road. This unusual house was built in 1800 and has a sham ecclesiastical window with a statuette of a monk, castellated roof and the prominent figure of a knight above the doorway. Elaine used cotton fabrics from the group scrap bag and built up the shape of the building applying the pieces by hand.
