"I wanted to use the original plan drawings of my house, (one of 8 of the same design), in Buxton Road to create a square for the quilt. The house design is quite unusual and no one knows if the domes shown in the picture were ever put in place, as they are certainly not there now.

I used the computer to scan in the image of the house and the writing and then printed this onto a transfer sheet, which I ironed onto calico. I did the same for the Elm leaf drawings as the road is lined with Elms. It took me quite a while to work out how to use the transfer sheets and deciding on the layout."

I was pleased to be part of a community project and to have the chance to revive my interest in needlework"
