Garden Club

"The paths running along the North side of Dyke Road Park were my inspiration and it grew from a painting I had done of this area many years ago. I added the flowers and seating to symbolise the Garden Club meetings. I drew the original picture onto a piece of cotton then added cut out shapes and embroidered them on. All the fabrics used were from my scrap box and it took me around two weeks to make it."

Elsie has lived in the area since 1970 and she joined the Garden Club when it was established in 1998. " I was pleased to have met many of my neighbours that I had not had the pleasure of before and really enjoyed becoming part of a community group."
